First Take: Storks- where do babies come from again?
SYPNOSIS:
Storks have moved on from delivering babies to packages. But when an order for a baby appears, the best delivery stork must scramble to fix the error by delivering the baby.
Storks is one of those films that came along out of nowhere- with Nicholas Stoller at the helm and no less than Phil Lord and Chris Miller executive producing, it had potential, and boy did it deliver.

The plot is very good, with many elements providing humour that easily pass the 6 laugh test with flying colours. Performance-wise, there isn’t anything special, but Andy Samberg and the cast utilise their comedic talents to full effect, making a film that the whole family can enjoy. It’s animated brilliantly, with the 3D version of the film providing some great moments that the younger audiences can really immerse themselves in. Mychael and Jeff Danna’s score adds to the flavour a little bit more, and there are some moments that utilse some great soundtrack choices. However, the real highlight was the Lego Ninjago short that has been attached to the film- it might be a great way to set up a future Lego Movie.
THE VERDICT
Storks is a great family film that ticks all the boxes that audiences want from a film like this- it’s funny, intelligent, and very well made. Also, it works brilliantly in 3D- and that is a rare thing nowadays.
RATING: 4/5
