Welcome to the Beta | Save The Surprise
If you're reading this, you're one of the lucky few to have access to the brand new look for the blog - thanks for helping us test out the shiny new look, and especially our new backend system.
More responsive, more mobile friendly, featuring a search bar which WORKS and a simpler way to find the content you enjoy, version 2.0 of the blog is testing with the help of you guys.
If there's issues with any content that needs tweaking ahead of the full launch in the new year (when the TheJackSmit.com domain gets connected), let us know using this feedback form or by emailing hello@thejacksmit.com.
It goes without saying, please SAVE THE SURPRISE of our brand new look until the launch, as this is one of the biggest changes to TheJackSmit.com since we launched in 2013.
TheJackSmit.com. Bringing Cinema Closer Since 2013
All of the content you love has made the move over - all the First Takes, all the Journals, all the Projection Rooms, and so much more still to come. Behind the scenes a lot has changed too, not only are we sporting a new look, but a new backend too, one which makes it even easier for us to push content out to you guys (with a search button that WORKS), one which is more suited to the media landscape of 2026, and crucially, another evolution of what we've done for the last 13 years. Yes, you might see the occasional ad between content now, but it's long overdue in our eyes.
2026 is going to light a creative fire for film fans around the world, with a new Christopher Nolan film to look forward to in July, to of course, our grassroots festival coverage like LYIFF, CineWyre, Bolton, Aesthetica and more (one of which WILL be announced very shortly here on TheJackSmit.com), alongside the usual First Takes, the return of the Journal, and our monthly look ahead with Front Row.
