First Take: Warcraft: The Beginning- LEEROOOOYYY JENNNKIINS...

SYPNOSIS:

The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people, and their home.

So, as the sypnosis above suggests, Warcraft is a very tough film to follow for anyone who hasn’t played the games- Duncan Jones has made a film that delivers the things that the fans of Bizzard’s seminal franchise want, but unfortunately from a filmmaking standpoint, it’s all over the shop. The script isn’t very good for a start, with many plot points cut or trimmed to get a tight 2 hour runtime, and the dialogue is enough to make many casual cinemagoers want to sleep. However, the performances from Travis Fimmel, Toby Kebbell and Dominic Cooper provide some redeeming factors alongside some of the best CGI in a film for several years, but it isn’t enough to stop me uttering the worst insult a film critic can give: everyone involved should be thoroughly ashamed. It’s actually worse than Batman v Superman.
