First Take: Die Hard- yippie kay-yay mother film lover

Plot in simpler terms- off duty NYPD officer takes on a group of criminals who disguise themselves as terrorists

Die Hard. A film regarded by many as the greatest Christmas film ever made. I now understand why. The action is brutal yet brilliant to watch for a film this old, the performances are perfectly formed, with Bruce Willis playing that iconic role of John McClane brilliantly, with Alan Rickman playing a very menacing Hans Gruber. Michael Kamen’s music fuels the visuals with ease, and it’s shot really well for a film made in 1988. It’s a timeless film aided by very rounded yet conventional direction and a well-written script.
