First Take: Magic Mike XXL- it's very hard to resist

Plot in simpler terms- the Kings of Tampa reunite for one last ride down to the Myrtle Beach stripper convention, albeit with many secrets revealed along the way.

XXL is a big statement for a film like Magic Mike, but Gregory Jacobs has directed a film that is even better than it’s source material. The plot is very simple to follow, and with most of the movie being improvised it makes for an explosive PASS on the 6 laugh test. What is scripted by Reid Carolin is also very funny. Performances from Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello and Jada Pinkett Smith are very good, but everyone is brilliant in this film. The dances are expertly choreographed, and as usual Steven Soderbergh shoots this perfectly. One note- there is a 50 Shades inspired sequence, so DON’T watch this bit with your parents. It gets very awkward. It’s pornographic but funny- this is a PERFECT SEQUEL.
