First Take: Memento- no notes or tattoos needed for this one

Plot in simpler terms- based on the short story Memento Mori, basically a typical Chris Nolan plot that follows a man with amnesia who has a unique way to find his wife’s murderer

Christopher Nolan. A man known for many a blockbuster, but Memento is far from the $200million Batman films. This is by far his darkest and best work, as this is very innovative. It’s hard to follow but that’s the point- it emphasises Leonard’s memory issues. Speaking of Leonard, Guy Pearce plays the part brilliantly, with the supporting cast also playing their parts nicely. Wally Pfister (Nolan’s top choice for cinematography) shot this very well, with David Julyan’s electronic score providing an atmospheric feel to the proceedings. I’ve never been in to the thriller, but this is how it should be done. This is officially in my top 10 films of all time.
