First Take: The Woman in Black- HOOOOLLLLYYY COOOOWWWW!
Plot in simpler terms- inspired by the novel, basically supernatural stuff going down in the 1800s
When I seen the menu for the DVD I instantly regretted walking into this one. I still do, as it is one of the darkest films I have seen in the 10 years I have been working with cinema related stuff. However, Daniel Radcliffe has clearly shown his more grown up side, putting in yet another solid performance. Supporting cast and general direction are also good, and the narrative is very believable yet very confusing. I have it on good authority that they took very little from Susan Hill’s original book- something which doesn’t surprise me really as the UK version lost 6 seconds of scares thanks to my friends at the BBFC…
