First Take Classics: Skyfall- not much I can really say here.
SYPNOSIS:
Bond’s loyalty to M is tested when her past comes back to haunt her. Whilst MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
This is one of the best Bond films released to date, and watching it in full for a second time was a joy. In the 2 years since its release, it seems to have got better. Sam Mendes’ direction of this, the 22nd Bond film, is faultless, and combining this with a great script from Neal Purvis, John Logan and Robert Wade allows Skyfall to echo the highs of the earlier entries in the series. Also, the performances are brilliant too, with Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem’s insane work proving that the film should have received more than just technical awards- this is also true with Thomas Newman’s score, as it blends Bourne-esque electronics with the traditional John Barry sound we all know and love. Watching this again is another reason to look forward to Spectre on October 23rd…
