First Take 3D- Guardians of The Galaxy: Marvel nail it once again
SYPNOSIS: A group of intergalactic criminals are forced to work together to stop a fanatical warrior from taking control of the universe
Marvel have really taken a gamble with this film- taking a comic that isn’t as well known amongst the casual fans and putting it into the MCU is a huge risk, but the film is probably one of the best they have ever made.

James Gunn directs the film very well, with not too much to fault at all; he absolutely delivers the right balance of back-stories to plot development and action, something which Gunn and Nicole Perlman have really driven in their very funny and unique script. It’s also shot very well too, with Ben Davis behind the camera delivering shots that really work for both the 2D and 3D versions.

The performances are great, with Chris Pratt cementing his place as a Hollywood star, and with Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista and Bradley Cooper on hand, this is the finest ensemble cast ever assembled in a superhero film. However, where this film stands out is the music- with Tyler Bates providing a score that hits the main conventions of the genre, the real highlight is the music that can only be described as Awesome Mix Volume 1- single handedly the best soundtrack ever curated for a film.
THE VERDICT
This film is just perfect. Nothing more, nothing less- with an incredible soundtrack, some great humour and some incredibly well developed characters, this is one of those rare films that can instantly captivate an audience.
RATING: 5/5
